Our History

Matt and Cristina worked together as coaches on the island of Maui for many years, helping individuals and teams to reach their full potential in athletics. From the beginning, they have been deeply involved in promoting athletics, and have worked tirelessly to create opportunities for local athletes to shine.

Their first venture in this direction was the launch of their website, mauirunner.com, which was designed to promote local athletes and running events on the island. As their reputation grew, they began to expand their coverage to include global events, such as the World Junior Track and Field Championships in Eugene in 2014 and the World Indoor Championships in Portland in 2016.

In addition to their online presence, Matt and Cristina have also been heavily involved in the local running scene in Hawaii, covering events such as the Hapalua Half Marathon in Honolulu, for the past 11 years and the Honolulu Marathon for 7. Through their tireless efforts, they have helped to promote athletics on the islands and to create a vibrant and supportive community for runners and other athletes. Now on the Big Island the passion will continue.
